I believe that as humans, our satisfaction or lack thereof with our life circumstances is made up of many things, but perhaps the most important among them is our relationship to others. My focus in the therapeutic space is on your emotional experience and helping you to grow fulfillment and understanding in your interpersonal relationships. In alignment with these beliefs, my practice is informed by a combination of person-centered theory, attachment theory, relational cultural theory, and emotion focused therapy. Research suggests that the single most impactful element of therapy is the therapeutic relationship between the client and clinician. In a world in which we are often forced to choose between empathetic understanding and supportive challenging, therapy offers a space in which the two are interwoven. As a therapist, it is my job to create a secure environment for you to feel both supported and free to tell your story. Together, it is my hope that we will build a foundation of self-trust and process past events as they relate to present predicaments to set you up for the future you’ve been waiting for.
