My Approach to Therapy

First and foremost, Samantha believes that building rapport with each client is paramount to effective therapy. She aims to provide an empathic space for clients to reach their therapeutic goals.

Relationships with all those in our lives can pose both benefits and challenges. Identifying patterns currently and within our family of origins can be imperative to healing and growing, fitting within a family systems approach. She also utilizes techniques from the CBT framework, and concepts within Structural Family Therapy. Ultimately, she integrates therapeutic frameworks to meet each client’s individual needs. She works with individuals, couples, and families.

She believes that being part of every client’s therapeutic journey is an honor.

About Me

Samantha is a Graduate of Messiah University with a master’s degree in counseling with a concentration in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling. She received her bachelor’s degree in criminology from West Virginia University. Within her program at Messiah University, she completed her fieldwork at the Delaware County Victim’s Assistance Center, supporting victims. Then she worked with BCA Therapy as a graduate-level intern. She transitioned to the role of a therapist after graduation.

Within Samantha’s prior professional roles, she worked with individuals that were impacted by drug and alcohol addiction as well as those within the criminal justice system as a law enforcement officer. Her experience has provided her with a unique position of viewing the interworking of families inside and outside the home and the wide-reaching effects of addiction on a family system. She also experienced an inside view of the challenges faced as a law enforcement officer and that has inspired a passion to provide support.

Outside the therapy office, you will find Samantha spending time with her family in nature, whether that be in the mountains, at the beach, or locally.
